When I read it, the following paragraph punched me in the gut and I'm not sure why. It has stayed with me for almost three weeks now so I'm posting it for future reference.

On a side note, I highly recommend the book. It's a memoir about a middle-aged guy learning to surf, but I think non-surf folks will enjoy it.
