My mom IM'd me today and informed me that, rather than getting two low-end luxury sedans as we update our stock of cars over the next year, she'd rather get 1 sedan and 1 "midlife crisis car without the midlife crisis." This is just fun for me because I get to look at new sports cars for myself. I'd like a hard-top convertible, and the Lexus ( Read more... )

Don't listen to the fool above. I am poor as all get out, and I don't hate you (maybe it's cuz if you get a stick, we have already established the fact that I am going to teach you how to drive it :)). I think you should either go with the 350Z or any of the Mercedes. I know I said RX-8 earlier would be cool, but rotary engines kinda blow after you put some mileage on them, and when something goes wrong, you have to replace the entire engine heh. Either way, I look forward to cruisin' with you in your new wheels on a sunny July afternoon, makin' the ladies stop and stare :).

Dang...you´d better get them in stick. It´s just so much more fun, I know...I wish I had it. except those LA grid locks will kill you, but it´s worth it. And here´s the best part you don´t have to rely on super-busy-I´m-in-a-band Robin to teach you. Your friendly USC-trojan-friend-who-loves-stick-and-a-mercedes-and-is-totally-reliable Laura can do the honors. But I still luv you Robin :-)

Man, I'm gonna be a popular guy.

I think I'm looking at an August or September purchase date. The original plan was to wait until November or December, because that's when the trade-in value on the Gallant will equal the resale value and we can just get rid of it at no loss, but my mom is getting impatient, and that means she's probably going to convince my dad to take a loss as a present to her. I love that she just randomly gets the "buy pretty things" itch...I think that means she's been Americanized in her 22+ years in the country.
