I was reading the article on Yahoo about how DST actually raises utility bills. Fine, I can see that, but I still like having daylight until 9pm during the summer, so I won't complain.

But the kicker for me was the last sentence:
"In related news, it was also revealed that Daylight Saving Time actually creates no additional daylight."I can't ( Read more... )

On the radio the other day, they were laughing about someone who had said that moving DST back would confuse the plants into thinking it was later spring than it actually was. Because, apparently, the plants can tell time.

Isn't it true? Think about it, in the course of a year we move forward an hour, then back an hour (so we're right back where we started). There isn't additional daylight, it just depends if it's light from 6 am - 8 pm or 5 am to 7 pm (kwim?) I love having it lighter later!
