Don’t get close to a vampire…
Hikaru opened his eyes as the sunlight that crept from the windows shone to him. He blinked and looked around. Now he was back to his room. That night, when he saw Daiki with fangs, he forgot what happened after.
He might have fainted then Daiki brought him to his room. He still couldn’t accept that Daiki is a vampire. How long has he been keeping that secret to him?
He hates vampires, or more as, he is afraid of them. They are nothing but beasts. You wouldn’t know what they can do to you. They can kill you when they would ravish their fangs to your neck. Daiki was the one that keeps on saying to him not to get close to vampires. Was that because he was one? He felt even terrible now… what was he doing all this time? He must have let his best friend suffer even more by despising those beasts.
He shivered. Just the thought of Daiki killing an innocent people made him frightened. What if Daiki would kill him someday? What if Daiki would dry up his body from blood? He tilted his head and tried to ignore the thoughts from his head. No, Daiki wouldn’t do that to him. They are brothers. They are best friends. He was the best he could ever have. He believed Daiki.
He decided not to talk with Daiki as of now, he might have needed time for it came so fast. And he, himself, needed time to accept about it as well.

Daiki walked fast to the mansion of Yabu. He needed to talk to them over his matter. His heart was full of dark feelings he felt inside. With a serious face and determination in it, he opened the door and went straight to a room.
“Inoo!” he shouted as soon as he came in. “Inoo! Come out now!”
Inoo opened the door of his room and greeted him with a smile. “What brought you here, Dai-chan? You already missed me?”
Daiki pushed him inside. “Look what you’ve done to me! It’s all because of your selfishness!” he shouted as tears started forming in his tired and weary eyes.
Inoo’s face soften. “Dai-chan… do you hate me that much?” he asked in a weak voice. His question was even barely audible. His voice was filled with bitterness and the reason, he didn’t know. All he knew that moment was that he was filled with anger. With hateful feelings… toward Inoo and towards himself.
“Yes! I hate you! I hate you for making me into a vampire!” he yelled. He tried to punch Inoo on his chest and let his anger come out from it but to no avail. Yes, he hates him for giving him that miserable life he couldn’t back out anymore but he just couldn’t hurt him. All because he started liking him back either.
Inoo touched his face and stroke his hair lovingly. “But, you are destined to be one of us. Time will come and you’ll realize why. I… I had no choice, Dai-chan.” He said. “I’m sorry,” he continued as he leaned his chin on Daiki’s head.
Daiki cried silently. He let his all his feeling out as he leaned on Inoo’s chest. Life can really be ironic sometimes. He despised vampires like them… like him… but here he is now, being calmed down with one. “Why is this happening to me…? I miss my warmth. I miss my heart that beats. Now, it seems like I’m completely dead…” he said in between his tears.
Inoo gritted his teeth. “I’m very sorry and I hated myself for doing that. I had no choice….” He said as he looked at Daiki on the eyes. “Let’s go to the school now, shall we?”
Daiki smiled faintly and slowly nodded. But one question still hanged on his mind. What made Inoo say he had no choice?

It was the usual day for Hikaru. Still the day filled with the brightness of the sun. People busily walking around. But there was just a little change… and he didn’t know if it was better.
His eyes hurt, must be because he didn’t had enough sleep last night. When he thinks of last night, the image of Daiki with fangs crossed his mind again. He was afraid of vampires… but knowing his best friend was one of them, he just couldn’t help feeing not scared anymore.
He needed to talk to him. There must be a reason behind it right? But when he woke up, he couldn’t even find s shadow of him. Where was he? Did he get some friends that are the same as him?
It just didn’t felt right walking alone to school. He wasn’t used to it. But now that he was alone, he needed to accept about it.
He was already in the classroom with him even failing to notice. He was really airheaded that day. He went straight to to his seat and surprised to see that Daiki was on his seat too.
He was looking at him with open mouthed and surprised look. Daiki met his gaze and gave him that usual smile on his. Why was he smiling that way? Was everything really all right?
Without a second of hesitation, he hurried to him and touched Daiki’s hand, his cold hand. He looked straight to his eyes. “We need to talk Dai-chan. Where were you l-l-last night?” He asked as he swallowed hard.
Daiki just stared unto him, still smiling. “You don’t need to worry about me Hika. I am still the Daiki Arioka you knew. We are still brothers… we are still best friends.”
He knew it wasn’t the right thing to ask him about that. They weren’t in the right place and they weren’t on the right time. But he needed to. “W-why did you become like “that”, Dai-chan?” He asked, unable to hide the hurt feelings in his voice.
Daiki’s smile was replaced with serious expression. “I… I hated at first that I become like this Hika. But now, I have accepted this with all my heart for… I have now found a reason.”
“What reason Dai-chan? What reason is enough for you so that you would abandon your peaceful life? With me?”
“Your life… was never even peaceful to start with, Hika.” Daiki answered with such sad eyes.
He was right. Something or someone was still haunting me about my past.
Don’t get close to vampires… they’re keeping secrets from you.
