So yes, my new laptop came in the mail today. It's pretty sweet. I think I'm going to be using it more than my home computer, since that one is slowly dying. For anyone who cares, my computer is a Dell Inspiron E1505 Dual Core. I might not know what that means, but I do know that it's pretty sweet ( Read more... )

Dual Core = two processors of whatever speed is advertized. My new Inspiron E1705 has Dual Core 2.0Ghz, and it's very noticable how much faster it gets things done by splitting up which program runs on which processor. And you're right, these things are sweet machines.

(just for kicks, open up your Task Managet and go to "Performance" - it gives you a feel for how the processing power is split up)
