A hook would most definitely be the most bad ass, however least practical. An eye patch would be fairly bad ass and fairly impractical, while a peg leg would be quite bad ass and only slightly impractical. Thus, it's a battle between the hook and the peg-leg. If the hook were to replace my right hand, I would most definitely choose the peg-leg, because I am right handed. However, if the hook replaced my left hand, it would be quite an even race. At the end of the day, though, I'm pretty sure I'd choose to have a peg-leg in place of my right leg.

Good question, Mike. Based on books, cartoons, and movies, captains are usually the only pirates with hooks. I would definitely enjoy all the benefits of being captain. Also, hooks are convenient for ripping out the hearts of your enemies. It'd have to be in place of my left hand, though, because I'd wield a scimitar in my right hand, so when sword-fighting, I would use my hook as a disarming tool and as a method of stopping my enemies when they try to run away after I disarm them (thrusting the hook in their back, then slitting their throats with my scimitar). Another thing: If I were to have a peg-leg or an eye patch, I wouldn't be able to perform cross-boat aerobics (swinging to opposing ship, canon dodging) effectively (I'd be half-blind or one-legged). I know you might be saying I wouldn't be able to effectively perform swinging between ships with a hook, but since I masturbate with my right hand, my right arm is pretty strong and I could swing with one arm. Also, if I fell off the rope, I could use the hook to attach on either ( ... )
