Agreed, on all counts.

::grin:: Seems I got flayed for taking exactly that position during an extremely nasty set of allegations of child sexual abuse in the greater NE Oh community. Refused to side with the alleged perp, though I knew him, except to insist he was entitled to his day in court and I would abide by the judgments of that court. Refused to get all wrapped up in the mother/daughter melodrama, or in the festival organizer denunciations, or in the whole world taking sides. Let the courts do their thing, it's what they're paid to do. In that case, they convicted. So be it.
