He was forced to step down from that position several months ago when he was indicted by a grand jury in Texas for money laundering and other fun stuff. I think it would be really funny if he was forced to stay on the ballot. Michael [who hadn't heard this] thinks that if Delay has to stay on he'll run a campaign for the other guy just telling people to write so-and-so in on the ballot. Eeeenteresting.

There are 4 months until election day. It will take some time for an appeals court to take the case and rule on it. So either way, dems are in a much better spot. Lampson can use this time to continue to raise money and campaign. I agree with Michael though. If the ruling goes against him, Delay will probably do just that, backed with a lot of national republican money.
