The right to bear arms.

Well this was written when the moneyed gentry hoped to keep those silly colonists from fighting back against royalist armies.

This is no longer the 18th century, why can't we grow the hell up and admit there is a freaking problem here.

I agree with 98% of this... some of these regulations already exist but are not being enforced (for a variety of reasons) while some are. To have a valid *concealed* permit you already have to take a safety course ad show minimum proficiency at a range. You do not for open carry though. People with felony convictions cannot be in possession of guns or certain restricted weapons. People with some misdem. convictions cannot have guns **IF** the PO makes it a condition of their probation AND authorizes detention if they are found with one. In my experience most will not unless the person has committed a new crime.
