If you buy a $79 hard drive and pull it apart inside you'll find two magnets much stronger than required to hold a DS to a fridge.

I did just that (with a dying drive) when the "expensive industrial" one broke on someone's thesis project last year.

They probably cost about 50c these day if you have the right source.

Hmm so it's feasible after all? Or does it depend on who Nintendo manages to get to supply them?

actually, just remembered the hard drive magnet actually broke the bit it was supposed to be pulling cause it was far stronger than the proper one ahaha

So don't try that with a DS ;)

The magnet should be able to wipe away any memory from the DS or the DS game card, right? XD

Unfortunately not, so they better make good recipes, cause you're stuck with them :P (particularly if it's a guy cooking ;)

yet another thought - flash cards work based on quantum tunnelling, you read them by examing the magnetic field, but you write them by applying a strong enough voltage potential to have some probability of coaxing your electrons across the huuuge (near xbox controller sized) barrier (and then wait long enough for probability to become effect.)

yes that kooky stuff in physics 101 really is important to many things we know and love ;)
