Yeah, see the thing is I don't consider myself to be racist at all, even though that's what I was taught, what I grew up surrounded by. I think there is a difference between "niggers" and "black people" a very distinct difference. And you're right, I think it's complete bullshit that they can go around and call each other whatever they want, in this case nigger, but as soon as someone white utters it, it turns into "hey, let's cut their throat" Dumb dumb dumb. I'm not racist against black people, I'm racist against stupid people.

i think the difference is that the word nigger, when used by a white person, connotes a huge history of slavery, segregation, and discrimination. when a black person uses the word to another black person, they are *owning* that word. they've turned the meaning around into something that THEY own, that THEY use to other black people, that DOESNT imply that they are inferior, sub-human creatures. i dont think its ok at all to call a black person a nigger. cracker is a completely different word with a completely different history. only when you have been the victim of a certain word and understand all its implications can you feel free to use it.
