For Wendalah

Wendy, I thought you'd appreciate this article since we're both pretty intent on getting just the right color...

There are blondes everywhere. But in New York, a city that thrives on symbols, they are often a breed apart.

This is funny because it's so true! I'm a natural blonde (and naturally pretty light) so my thoughts to anyone who is having roots done every 2 weeks is that they're just not a blonde, darling!

I get highlights, but probably once every 10 weeks. Even at 10 weeks I don't have horrid roots. Just a little less sparkle on the top. If I went 100% platinum I'd need more touch ups but I try to keep it somewhat natural looking.

I love Ivanka's new hair. She's very classy looking now.

CT has a lot of blondes. I see them everywhere and in bigger numbers than I've noticed in other places. I guess I don't stand out anymore!

I guess I'm a natural blonde - or I was for a long time. If I had an outdoor job, I'd naturally be very light. But since I'm in an office all day, everyday, I need serious help. I've started to go lighter - or more THOROUGHLY blonde - than I used to so I'm going for highlights every 2 months. But according to the article, that means I don't look good. LOL! My roots aren't horid because they're not THAT dark, but of course I think my hair looks black and white by the 2-month mark (my friends swear that's not the case but they're my friends).

Ivanka is looking good. I saw her in Greenwich years ago when she was being bratty to her younger brother.

Yes, CT has TONS of blonde - at least the Fairfield County area.

Ha, ha...I absolutely had to read this article. My hairstylist has the same color hair as I do (dirty blonde that is turning rapidly brown as we get older) and she's always joking with me about "the blond addiction." I love her because she totally gets it. We both drill our husbands about our hair color on a regular basis so you are not weird at all. The platinum is currently in a sort of evolutionary stage right now so poor K. has to analyze it every few weeks.

BTW, re: as mentioned in the article--if I had one wish from God, I'd seriously consider..."World peace? Or hair like Carolyn Bessette Kennedy's?" I am not joking.

No contest. While being a tree-hugging liberal is all well and good, I'm also a materialistic bitch who wants beautiful, glorious hair and when it comes down to it, I'd choose me over the rest of the world. =D

As soon as I sat down to flip through the paper and I saw this headline, I thought "I MUST post this for Wendy!" Glad you enjoyed the read.

I think I may need your help. I'm wondering if my hair is looking a little too yellow. But I pretty much love it and I like the girl I go to and I'm not willing to pay more than 200 so I'm scared to go elsewhere. According to "Bergdorf Blondes" (a trashy book you might also enjoy), I should be going to Bergdorf's of all places!

CBK had THE color, didn't she? But I read an article a few years ago that when JFK Jr. touched her head once when they were out with friends, she said something like "Don't touch. There are so many chemicals in my hair it will break off." I wouldn't want that but...

There's a children's Ralph Lauren ad right near with the most gorgous blond little girl in a trench coat. Now SHE has the color I would die for. Have you seen it?

Why can't I edit comments? UGH... so many typos.

In the last para I meant "now" instead of "near."

This article highlights exactly why I gave up the addiction. It's sad too because I was born blonde and was a natural blonde until college when it all went downhill and my genetics turned on me and I went from straight, blonde hair to wavy, medium brown hair almost over night. It's like I morphed into a whole other person who longingly covets the days of old. I was thinking about going back to blonde for the summer, but if I'm being honest, I haven't found anyone I trust to do it well for the price I'm willing to pay. A couple of summers ago, I got the grand idea of going honey blonde and I walked out of the salon with fried, frizzy platinum blonde. It was awful and there was nothing I could do. I think I'm just going to have to embrace the brown. I thought I had for awhile too ... taking the medium brown to a gorgeous shade of chocolate, only to have my roots grow in quicker and faster than before. I can't win. Strangely enough, my roots right now look - gasp - dark blonde! It's a cruel, cruel world.

Time is a killer, isn't it? My hair is so curly now that I can't NOT dry it and get a decent look unless I'm going for the completely curly look.

BTW Karen I just got my hair done yesterday. K. took some photos at our party last night, so I'll post and you can analyze my haircolor. :D

Ugh, now I'm worried my hair looks too yellow! It's so damn blond, it kind of shines like a beacon in those photos. Our camera seems to really give saturated hues. The shirt I'm wearing is a sort of rust color, but it looks orange in the photos, for example.
