[DA2: art] Favours
Way back in October, I posted this asking for help on a piece of draft artwork (and I'm grateful for all the responses <3).
Six months later, I've finally finished it!
After faffing around with the original, namely thinking about the best way to transfer it to better quality paper, I eventually decided the best way was to redraw it. I was somewhat reluctant, given that I was quite pleased with some of the figures, but I bit the bullet and redrew it - I needed more practice, anyway.
Boy, am I glad I redrew! It turned out way better :) I really must NOT get so attached to the originals. I tweaked the composition and Sebastian is now in a much more comfortable position. I also swapped his favour with Merrill, because I realised that, as an archer, the glove was more suitable for him. (Belatedly, I also realised that I should've given Merrill a garter instead, just for fun ^_~)
The colouring proved to be a bit challenging due to my inexperience in colouring flesh, the number of figures present and the limit of my palette. (BTW, can "palette" be used for colour pencils?)
I've managed to pull it off, somewhat, in that they each have different skin tones, although I thought that Isabela's and Fenris' should be swapped and Merrill just doesn't seem quite right. Nevertheless, I am rather happy with how the overall colours have turned out. ^_^
