Earlier this evening as I stood waiting under a bus shelter on Old Kent Road, two European guys joined me, one asking for a light. I gave him my matches and he lit his last smoke. Last week I was sat at the bus stop after my Japanes course (It was late at night) and there was a girl and boy sat there. At first sight - My bad - they looked a bit chav. She turned to me, saw my folder and asked if I was doing a course. Still thinking - My bad pt2 - she was going to take the piss, I said I was studying Japanese. She turned back and said "Oh thats different. I'm studying dressmaking because I make fantasy Costumes"
Not only did this display my own awful misconceptions (I felt awful for stereotyping) but it was just one of those moments when your mouth drops open.
The reply?
"HiI'mDonnaandI'maCostumer!!!!!!!!!!!!" It went from there really. Lol. Bus stops, I tell you, they're interesting places!
