I am not interested in what the government wants to give me in order to preserve their own power. I am an adult, and can provide for my needs without their handouts. Handouts which are, I might point out, paid for with taxes seized from others under threat of force.
Public Shelter? Didn't we just shell out over a trillion dollars to support people who can't pay their mortgages, banks who gave out mortgages that couldn't be repaid, and to fund the refinancing of the unpayable mortgages into unpayable mortgages with lower intere3st rates?
Because we are conditioned to try to get the most by doing the least. There are certain people who, if their basic needs were met, would do NOTHING with their lives. Except complain.
Because America was founded on the principles of Capitalism, Individualism, and Superiority. Giving everyone the same health care, housing and food kind of flies in the face of the founding father's ideals.
