Wow. I've been spending too much time on myspace. o.O Trying to get to know all my friends.
"Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have fewer than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them here, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much."
Beck - He's an amazing songwriter and I love how he experiments with so many different genres.
Blur - They're just so addicting I guess! I love how they're just anti-pop, yet still poppy and catchy.
Dorks - Dorks are interesting, not boring. I am one. DORKS SHALL CONQUER THE EARTH!!!
Gang of Four - I suppose its the guitars mostly, and the drums. That off-beat, rigid, angular post-punk sound is what I love. Plus, I totally agree with the messages behind most of their songs because they're mostly about anti-capitalism.
Ian - What can one say?? Hes just so cute, charming, nice, geeky, talented, and GOD DAMMIT I love that man. Er, boy.
Joy Division - I suppose its the rhythm of their guitars, perhaps how their darkly brooding music just seems to reel me in.
Meomi -
http://www.meomi.com Their designs are just so cute and creative. There's just so much to admire.
Nylon - Although a girly magazine, yes, its a nice change from the over-hyped, fake, botox-injected girly mags. Its indie, and focuses more on not-so-heard of clothes/designers, music, movies, etc.
Ranch Records - When it comes to finding merch from indie artists, they are hard to come by in Salem. But Ranch Records, although it could be better, has been my savior in Salem when it comes to finding the CDs/stickers/pins I want.
Shirley Manson - Is my hero. I think Garbage was the first band I really loved (at age 6) and she was just such a rebel, she didn't care about labels or what the media thought. And that really inspired me, even as a wee one.
Tara McPherson - Awesome band/concert/other poster artist. If you're like me and you love concert posters of your favorite bands, and the idea of 'morbidly cute' designs, Tara brings together both worlds.
The Organ - They're like a female version of the Smiths. Like JD, their dark and brooding music seems to reel me in.
Vespas - DUH!!! They're friggin adorable. Especially if they're mint green and the vintage style. I love those little Vespa outfits that come with the mopeds. I'd like one someday, but my nurse sister scares me with tales of moped accidents shes seen. o.O
