Good post, I was wondering what the Keenan take on that whole IRA business was. Obviously when those IRA guys killed those other Irish people, that was stupid, but I don't see why that would lead to less support for Sinn Fein. Of course, I think those people should be brought to justice.

exactly. the only problem i have with the whole thing is the misrepresentation in the media. i guess it's hard to summarize a 300 year conflict in 2 columns, but they're not even trying! and obviously, if you kill someone, you should be punished. i just think it shouldn't be dressed up as some ira attack on an innocent civilian. it was a bar fight. plain and simple. so the dudes involved happened to be republican fighters. so is half the country! but of course, no one would know it from the media.

Watch out for the ACLA (Afro-Canadian Liberation Army)!! anonymous March 20 2005, 07:48:02 UTC
If you read the article that I gave to you you will have read that the Irish diaspora in the United States is the single largest contributor to the IRA, and without it, the republican movement would never have been as successful as it has been. Does the opinion of George Bush matter? Not to the Northern Irish perhaps. But the media in the United States that shows this difference probably can carry some weight with the Irish diaspora. Not only did George Bush not see Gerry Adams, neither did Ted Kennedy, the most prominent Irish-American in the Congress. That must also say something back home ( ... )

yo kathy,

being irish is sweet.
i ate this stuff at my friend's house called furmedy or something like that.
it was stew made from crappy beef and vegetables like spinach and lima beans, with a shot of wiser's rum in each mug. needless to say, eating it was the hardest thing i've done in my entire life. but i was proud to say i did it.

honestly, i kind of like the scottish more than the irish, but only because they are even angrier and i'm part scottish. irish people get props on the accent though.

i also really like jews.

in fact i don't give a rat's ass what ethnicity anyone is as long as they have a sweet accent.

and i'm gonna celebrate St. Paul's day this year by eating Truffle, English Muffins, Tea, Sponge Cake, Liver, Yorkshire Pudding, Digestives and the best invention of the English: SMOG.
