She'd left her room, wondering if the screaming had left a ringing in her ears. It wasn't until she was outside that she realized it was the other pumpkins, the ones still on their stakes. Whispering.
She's tried to ignore them. But there's a certain light in her eyes that suggests it's starting to wear on her.
And now she's wandered to the library, half-looking for the pumpkin that looks like her so that these voices might finally stop, and half too shocked to really have a purpose. It's been a rather eventful 48 hours.

She takes a deep breath, the whispering pressing, pressing, and she thinks for a second she can hear her mother, her father, her brother, taunting her. She's gone and they're erased, but they whisper that she abandoned them long ago, that she failed them. Her father's whispers a moan into her ear, that she didn't try hard enough to protect him, and then Lini's scream fills her ears--
Tammy's mind sinks into something safe, and when she looks at the pumpkin again her eyes are perfectly sharp and clear.
"How do I get out?"

"That's more like it. First, you find the words. Then, you find the door. Door's easy - it's in the tower between the woods and the lake. Words, not so much. Those're hidden."

"Right, a door. And these words are a key?"

"But you want them," it says, and its tone becomes entirely serious. "You'd come back for them."

She visibly contemplates this, pursing her lips as she studies the pumpkin in front of her.
"Why are they important?"

"Important enough to voluntarily come back to this place? Interesting. So," and at this new, brisk tone, she places her hands on her hips, "any hints on where I can find these words?"
