Isabella would not miss this, even with everything going on. She had found this outfit that had wings. Since the wings were black she was not dressing as an angel- likely it was just another half-breed costume, right? She has dyed her own wings to match- and they are an inky black. She had to bring in the waist and hem it to fit but she liked the colors and the fabric and is enjoying herself for the moment.
The bard also brought her violin and will be playing along with the musicians but, she will be dancing to the tunes and in the crowd at the same time. Isabella will be doing her best to bring some happy to this masquerade ball...
Sollux was less grumpy about this party than about the last one. At least he stayed his own species, and had more prior warning. Though if he'd been thinking things through he may have realized everyone staying themselves might mean Isabella making him dance more, he'd blissfully missed that option.
He arrives with her, dusting his hands off a bit on his shirt. "I don't think I got all the dust off..." he mumbles.
She smiles at him, the glitter on her wings was fun, and it sparkled. They had to shake it off a number of outfits but the effect, in her opinion, was phenomenal.
She reaches over and dusts some off of his shoulder where a bit of it landed. Though, it seemed the effect of the glittery dust was to stick to everything it ever contacted with and not come undone.
"Mostly. I'm sure it will wash off with water." She smiles. "Thank you for helping."
Sollux grunts a bit. "I keep thinking I'll be shaking them out of my hair for days."
No he doesn't, but its fun to gripe. Well, not fun. He grins a bit at Isabella. "It was nothing. You seemed really eager to get all dressed up." For some reason he still couldn't understand.
She grins, she'll not be rid of the glitter for weeks. So many places for glitter to hide in those feathers. Likely this means his sparkling might last longer if she hugs him.
She nods, "It is exciting. There are clothes and things you work in, then there is this chance to play." She was a old fashioned player at heart, and how often did you find glitter? "It is almost pretend, but you are still yourself."
And this Deior, was a very important point, thank you kindly.
"I don't really do pretend." Unless video games counted, but that wasn't really the same. "But I guess I can see why its exciting when nothing else ever fucking happens."
Er, well.
"Well, nothing safe...Unless this gets fucked up too." Ever the pessimist B|
"I hope that's all there is. But at least if they decide to do anything stupid we won't have to worry about having trouble moving."
He sighs, then shakes his head and looks towards the refreshments. "Well, the food wasn't bad last time, if Joe cooked this stuff too then it should be alright."
"There is that. I rather enjoy my balance intact and not being human." She frowns. She might not like the angels, and have hidden her wings via a illusion spell before. This did not mean she wanted to be human in the very least.
Then she smiles brightly, "He's quite a good cook, if given the chance." Speaking of food, that sharksheep smells awfully good from over here. "It smells good..."
Sollux heads over to the food with Isabella, then grabs plates for both of them. He hands her one then starts putting things on his own. Meat first, since there seemed to be less of it and he always prefered it anyway.
"All those stupid pumpkins better go away after this."
She accepts the plate with thanks and waits to get her own share of meat, for almost the same reasoning as Sollux. She grimaces and nods.
" I truly hope so. They're awful," and if she ever met the Lord, she might have a few choices words for him about it. "Perhaps this is to make up for that?"
"I agree." She sighs and looks around. The she spies the all too familiar spiderwebs. Both good for curiosity and a distraction from the current subject...

"It doesn't have to! Because you are the one making it happen. Then there's the dancing and music- " and. Yes. That.
" Here, let us hope that it doesn't. We are not human! Perhaps this is the treat, since we were tricked."
There's reasons for that pessimism. She's agreeing with it.

Sollux cants his head a bit. "Maybe we should get something to eat, then."

Pleased to take the conversation down a happier road she'll lead him to the food.
