She had debated not going. She hadn't wanted to go. Not while Kloe was alone, unguarded, and most probably lonely. But Alex had gone to such lengths to make this beautiful costume-dress for her, and Aara did not want to let her friends down. She had promised quite a few friends a dance this evening. Besides that, Kloe was off in seclusion anyway, trying to heal the sickness she could spread. Aara didn't quite understand, but she admired her for it. Her hoped with everything in her Sycora could manage to do something. So, hesitantly, heart fluttering like a bird, Aara slowly walks into the Great Hall and looks around with wide-eyed delight. The food looked delicious, and everyone was dressed in ways Aara had never before seen. A smile trembles across her lips, and she walks further into the room. For a moment, she forgets the bright color of her lovely gown. She forgets the angst and worry and agony of the past two weeks

Aara stared, shock and awe tearing through her. She quickly dipped into a curtsy and held it as she simultaneously held her breath.
Was this real? Was he really asking this of her?
Relaxing, smiling happily up at him, she nodded as she also stood.
"I would love to."
Her heart pounded from within, and she could not stifle her excitement. Her first dance of the evening, with the tall and handsome man. His features were dark, and it didn't seem as though he minded she was rather pale, either.
Her heart tripped over itself as she turned wide eyes his way. She smiled softly.
"I am Aara."
Placing a hand at his shoulder, Aara took a steadying breath as his hand found hers. Her first dance with someone of the opposite gender. Forcing nervous muscles to relax, Aara allpatiently waited for theeyes rhythm of the music to sweep over her as she tuned herself to the man before her--San.
Easily following his lead, Aara continues to dance feeling as though her feet might float off the ground. She smiles up at Sandrath, her expression a mixture between shy uncertainty and bold delight.
She wanted to ask him questions. How long had he been here? Why had she never seen him before? Was he staff, or like the others who found themselves here? Where was he from?
She stayed silent and watchful, however, simply enjoying the moment. There was a time and place for questions, after all, and Aara was nothing if not patient.
"I do not mind." He informed. "I have only been here for a week, just before the talking pumpkins started up."
He paused for a moment, debating if he should go with a lie with being a staff member of the Keep. The arch-angel didn't realize he had caused himself to frown, due to remembering his death by Sycora. He quickly shook the thought off and his typical grin reappeared.
"Are you used to such things as talking pumpkins?"
They were certainly strange for where she was from. Then she noticed that small frown, and her brows drew together in question and concern. Maybe one of the pumpkins really got to him as well? She hoped it was nothing worse than that, in any case.
"Earth." Her head tilted to the side. "It seems a lot of people are from there."
"The talking pumpkins were a first for me, but I have dealt with other supernatural things before."
He played it off casually, like he was never phased. He didn't run in to any pumpkin that resembled anyone else from his world, but a certain one would inflect more damage if he had.
"So I've heard, but it seems its different for everyone."

"Excuse me," he addressed. "Would you like to dance?"
After his question, he stood and offered his arm. He would wait for her response.

"That's good to hear." He replied as he lead them out to the dance floor. "I take it a slow dance would be a good starter?"

"I would be honored...my lord." He hadn't given her a name to call him by, after all.
She walked tall and gracefully at his side, arm lightly resting through his as he led her to the dance floor.
Her first dance. She desperately tried to conceal her excitement as she strove for an aura of calm.

He moved to take her hand with his own and positioned himself for a slow waltz.

She preferred them, actually. Any fast dances she would be a bit rusty at, though she would undoubtedly still have fun.
"It is nice to meet you as well, San."
She followed his movements, lightly and gracefully in turn.

He smiled a bit as he twirled her for a moment before bringing her back slowly.

Enjoying the expression on Aara's face as they continued their simple routine, San couldn't help but smile.
"Is there something on your mind?" He asked. "Or are you just struck with awe about me?"
Reply
"It is just... I have never met you before tonight. I know so little about you, though I do not wish to pry."
Her grin widens then.
"May I ask where you are from? Or are you a member of the staff here?"

"No, I'm not. I'm from Earth, mostly."
