Bryn was looking forward to this. After everything that had happened, a party was exactly what would get her mind off of things. More than that, she'd dumped her original costume in favor of something else. Sure, it was a little revealing and she had dumped the strange hair accessories that had come with it, but in the end Bryn couldn't resist the way the soft white leather fit her. When she looked in the mirror, she actually felt pretty which wasn't something that happened often. Bryn took time to do her hair and make up, and by the end she was more than pleased with the result.

So, full of confidence, she didn't peek into the room and slide in trying to stay unnoticed, but strode in with the corners of her lips drawn up in a hopeful smile.

"Interesting," she said, showing the slightest bit of doubt in her expression. "So you're an arch angel...for God?"

He was right, this was a bit much to believe off the bat.

"I wouldn't exactly say 'God'." He started. "More so for good of your race from the evil that plans to corrupt it. If that makes any sense."

Well, before he decided to switch sides. He doesn't fall under saving or corrupting catergory anymore.

"Is there a lot of evil that's tried to corrupt the human race?" she asked, curious by this conversation that had...well, taken a bizarre turn. "I mean, what sorts of things would they try to do?"

"Pretty much." He stated with a slight tilt of the head. "With endless wars and your typical evil plots that have been depicted in films."

Maybe he was just humoring Bryn right now. It was hard to tell as he continued to dance most gracefully.

The conversation distracted her enough that she was actually managing...fairly well. It was surprising. She didn't even notice that she was following along well enough, honestly.

"So...you're one of the good guys?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. "You tried to protect people from that evil?"

"Yes." He nodded. "I have. I even suffered torture for it."

He paused for a moment for her to let her take in the information without tripping over her feet.

She tripped anyway. That wasn't really something that you just admitted in polite conversation, was it? It certainly wasn't something she was equipped to deal with smoothing.

"I...ah...I see," she said, looking away. Just as she'd been starting to get comfortable, he yanked the rug out from under her again.

"I apologize. That was rather unapproiate of me." He meant what he said. "Maybe we should talk about something else."

The fallen arch-angel paused to listen to the music, to get back in to the groove.

Megamind had been watching this exchange with a mostly sour expression on his face - he didn't particularly like the looks of that man that decided to dance with Bryn and while he can't exactly say he's Mister Perfect himself, something about him rubs even Megamind the wrong way.

So, he takes a leaf from the Lady of the Keep's book, and swiftly pulls a deft 'poaching' maneuver. Taking advantage of the pause, he slipped right in and picked up where Sandrath left off, sweeping Bryn into his arms and giving the other man a dazzling smirk.

"Terribly sorry for your luck, mate." Jack's influence, it is ever presence.

"Yes that might be be--" Bryn began, and cut herself off with wide eyes as Megamind well, poached her.

What a strange way to think of it.

She looked at Sandrath with a slightly apologetic look, as this of course was nothing that could be helped, and then to Megamind who was looking, well, quite dashing, actually. She gave him a once over as they continued the set, and when close enough, managed to whisper in his ear.

"Thank you, I was feeling terribly awkward," she said, still keeping a smile on her face.

San wasn't expecting Megamind to step in between Bryn and himself. He was quite surprised by the motion and a bit amused by it, despite his raised eyebrow.

"I guess we'll have to continue our conversation later then." He called after, a grin taking its place on his lips.

He might as well move off the dance floor or find another partner to dance with.

He wouldn't be continuing that conversation if Megamind had anything to do with it, but the smirk stayed firmly in place until the other man had meandered off.

"Foul beast," he retorted under his breath, glancing at Bryn as he took in her comment. "Making a lady uncomfortable at a party, inexcusable."

He slid an arm around her waist and pulled her further away from the previous situation, hoping to distract her from the disturbing conversation she had been having.

"Oh no, he wasn't foul," Bryn said, unable to help defending Sandrath. "Perhaps just a bit...socially awkward." Hello, kettle calling pot.

"I don't think he quite understood that it can be a bit alarming for the other person to be told that you've been tortured," she clarified, allowing Megamind to guide her through the dance. She knew he had practiced while she had been playing.

"Have you been enjoying yourself so far?" she asked, hoping to change the subject.

No, Bryn - anyone that dances with you and isn't Megamind is foul.

He pulled a face, but refrained from making any further comment. It had obviously distressed her previously and he was in no mood to continue upsetting her.

"Yes, actually - I find that I rather am." He smiles brilliantly down at her, previous conversation pushed to the wayside. "And yourself? I assume you must be, now that I'm here."

No, the arrogance will never go away.

"Oh yes, I find myself quite near a swoon," she said, giving him an amused look. "I'm quite overwhelmed by being in your presence, such as you are."

Really, she was pleased to see him. Enough so that combined with her earlier confidence, she felt lively enough to joke and, gasp, even flirt somewhat.

Not that she would use that word, but the result was the same.

"I can only hope the reverse is true for you as well," she teased, already noting the dance was going into its final movements.
