"Well this is peculiar..." Jack is examining his straw body. It wasn't the first time that he's been other than living flesh and blood, but it certainly was the weirdest.
He'd been standing with the drinks, of course, and indulging himself some of the refreshments when his perspective changed rather abruptly.
He stands and tests his straw limbs out. They seem, fragile, and they lack all the touch and feeling that really ones have.
He also seems to be lacking those wondrous opposable thumbs that he is rather fond of.
Scott isn't too thrilled with the straw body either. For one, it doesn't work very well, and second, it doesn't have the things that Scott kept on his person, like a visor that can be properly attached to his face. The one the came with the costume suddenly feels uncomfortably loose, but it could just be him.
Wasn't it part of the boyscout rule book to not panic? He's just not panicking!
"Ah. Well, as peculiar as it all is, I did not know perhaps if I was the only mate to not be in particular discomfort." You know, since some of the rest of them are screaming.
Jack looks around, "There seems to be a bit of a population discrepancy as well, there are far fewer of us straw-bodied individuals out here, than were at the party-"
For a guy who talks funny, Scott does like the way he thinks.
"Good idea. Let's go." Scott leads the way, lurching toward the party on unsteady legs. One of his wooden hands flies up to secure his visor until he's sure it won't slip off.
"I wonder why this happened at all." Bobby had said strange and freaky things happen. Scott just hopes this thing won't end badly. If their heads can appear on pumpkins, they can go back to their bodies, right?
It's a good thing the doors are open; trying to pry anything open with wooden hands would be a hassle. Of course, it also means it's easy to spot more than one headless body from afar. Scott tries to pick up the pace, but doesn't really succeed.
"Amusement for a man who flaunts his powers over the lesser of us, you think?" Well, there's a bit of jaded pessimism for you. Jack has no doubts it was the Lord's doing. Else why invite them to a party only to have horrible things happening to the guests?
"Oh-" He catches sight of the inside of the Hall. That's not good. Not good at all. There were a number of bodies and terrified people about. Party indeed. He helps to steady his strawman companion to where ever the goggled lad is going.
"I think if we work together, we'll get there faster."

"Well this is bloody inconvenient."

Jack peers at the stranger, then takes a few steps seeing the bloody stump of his neck upon a straw body.
"Does that hurt, by chance?"
The look on his face could be best described as 'ewww'.

"What?" It takes a second for what the weirdo in dreads is getting at. "You tell me."

Huh? Oh. "I guess not everyone got turned into a... strawman."

"Hopefully it will be less alarming than this."

Jack will be following right behind Scott, clomping along on those wooden feet and trying not to topple, himself.
"I wonder why it was just the lot of us."
