Mini Event! the spider and the mistletoe

Dec 30, 2011 00:08

Across the Keep runs a rather large spider, scampering from building to building, room to room and carrying with him a decent sized branch of mistletoe. One might catch him skittering up a wall to build a web above a doorway, or stringing mistletoe up from various points on the ceiling.

He doesn't linger in any particular place for too long, save ( Read more... )

For once, Ryn had actually been keeping an eye on the journals, so she'd read over Joe's entry about the mistletoe bringing spider with some amusement. Barring any unforeseen consequences - and Ryn certainly wasn't ruling that out, at this point - this was actually something Ryn could enjoy.

She definitely wasn't going to be staying in her room with all this going on, in any case. A trip to the kitchen in the Keep sounded good, and probably another trip up to the tavern. And maybe just a little bit of wandering the grounds.

Iriel was just leaving the tavern when she ran into Ryn. Bottle in hand, she was forced to stop in the doorway where a sprig of mistletoe had been hung. Iriel ignored it for the moment and gave the other woman a wide smile.

"Hey Ryn."

Ryn was disregarding the mistletoe as well, though she knew full well it was there, because greeting the other woman with a grin was much more important.

"Hey, Iriel. I see you were having the same idea I was."

"Great minds think alike, yadda yadda yadda," she replied with a grin.

But oh. Hey. There's that mistletoe thing. That leafy berry thing. Right over Ryn's head. Iriel gives it a pointed look and raises an eyebrow at Ryn.

How do you feel about girl-lips, Ryn?

Ryn followed Iriel's gaze to the mistletoe, then looked back down at Iriel, meeting her raised eyebrow with a bit of a smirk.

"Merry Christmas."

And with that, she leaned closer, tugging Iriel in for a kiss.

Yep.

Iriel liked Ryn's style.

She put her hands on the other woman's hips with a low chuckle before returning the kiss with a bit of a nip and nibble, because that was her style when she was at ease around another person.

Safe to say that Iriel's feeling's on Ryn's style were very much returned.

Ryn hummed low in her throat at the nibble, sliding her arm affectionately over Iriel's shoulder and loosely around her neck. She gave Iriel's lower lip a nip of her own before pulling back with a grin.

Now that the darkness had lifted in the Keep, Sandrath started to wander about as he slowly regained his memories. So far, there wasn't anything coming to mind regarding the residents of this etablishment. He secretly hoped that Enos would cover for him, despite his sudden disappearance.

He caught sight of Ryn down the hall. San wasn't sure what to think of her, to approach or keep his distance. His blue eyes reflected his hesitation.

Ryn didn't have any such hesitation. When she spotted him down the hall, she couldn't help smiling. He was the only one of her admittedly small group of people that she didn't consider incredibly irritating that she hadn't seen or heard from since the darkness thing, and she'd been a little concerned.

"Hey," she greeted, stopping next to him. "How're you doing?"

San wasn't expecting her to call out to him and now, unable to look away, found that Ryn was right beside him. Her quickness did cause him to jump slightly.

"Hello." He greeted in return. "I am fine and do not require any assistance."

That was rather awkward of him, totally not like his usual self. It probably didn't help that he was rather on edge and distracted by other thoughts. To constantly keep his sanity in check.

"...How are you?" He asked, his voice unsure if this was the correct way of responding.

Ryn raised an eyebrow at San's first comment, torn a bit between asking if he was okay and making a snarky comment about how she hadn't really offered any assistance.

She was leaning towards the snarky comment when he asked her how she was, and got even weirder.

"...I'm fine. But I'm starting to think you're not as fine as you claim."

Her comment caused him to tense and look away. His nerves were getting the better of him.

"N-No... Its nothing." He reassured, giving a small wave of dismissal. "I assure you, I am fine."

Right, that was completely believable there. Ryn looked at him, expression obvious that she didn't buy that for a fucking second, but if he didn't want to tell her about it, she wasn't going to be pushing.

At least not for the moment.

"All right, have it your way. Happy Christmas, then," she told him, looking up at the mistletoe above their heads.

"Any objections?"

All right, maybe she was pushing a little.

San wouldn't notice the look of disbelief, but was drawn to look back when she spoke. Eye contact when speaking was a good thing, or so said his studies.

"Ah... Merry Christmas to you." He replied before looking up as well at the mistletoe. "...What is that? I have never seen it before."

Or she could take advantage of the situation and surprise him.

She wasn't surprised that he didn't know what it was, considering she'd run into a few others who'd had no clue, either. Ryn would've had no qualms about explaining via showing if San hadn't been acting a bit off, but since he was, she took a moment to consider it.

And then went with showing anyway, since that was obviously the hell of a lot more fun option.

"Mistletoe."

With that, she leaned up to kiss him.

"Mistletoe..." He repeated the name before suddenly finding himself drawn down and in to a kiss by Ryn.

Sandrath's eyes widened when their lips met. His body froze and his mind raced. He didn't understand what was going on here. He placed his hands on her shoulder and pulled back, if it was possible.
