Her bed was covered in dust. Her journal was caked in the stuff, and Chloe thought she would never be clean again. Amidst the chaos after the storm, however, something had captured not only her attention, but a certain green-eyed werewolf's as well.
Re-reading the letter from their 'benefactor,' Chloe couldn't help the small flutter of excitement that trembled through her. Locked doors usually meant someone was hiding something, and in a situation like this, it would also mean answers.
Chloe was going down those passageways.
Derek was going with her.
That thought barely crossed her mind when a knock came at her door, and Derek entered. The look in his eye was very similar to the one in hers.
Yes, she was aware he was coated in red dirt or dust. Yes, she was mindful that she was also coated, and would probably never get the stuff out of her hair, but none of that mattered right now.
"We're going, right?" Of course they were going. This was Derek she was talking about. "Into the passageway?"
