It was amazing how much work was necessary for a small get together, but also how quickly and easily it went with the help of another person. Especially when that person happened to be on staff

Is that a young troll full of anger and aggression making his way for the party people? It is! This is a rather unusual sight for anyone who knows Equius, and even if you don't it's still quite obvious by the look on his face that he isn't here to enjoy himself.
No, there's no fun allowed for this brute tonight, as he's here to mainly get a sense of just who else is at this Keep. Equius is simply standing off to the side, staring at each and everyone that passes with a calculating look as if he's judging/determining your strength right there on the spot.
As soon as their eyes met, they knew it was true love.
Equius is hardly paying attention until he blinks, focusing and quickly realizing that he's the one being watched this time. He's remaining silent, narrowing his eyes and putting on a wide frown. This could very well be the most unhappy staring contest ever had.
Now now, there's no reason Equius can't still fly into a pointless rage.
"Yes. I have. And I believe that much is truth, to be honest. There is variation in Trolls, but the problem is that I have not yet determined what system you humans use to classify yourselves as you all have the same blood color."
He forms a slight scowl for a moment, but drops that for a bored look.
"Fun. Juvenile entertainment is for wigglers. I do not see much to entertain myself with, here."
Partially because he doesn't really understand humans or their gatherings, and partially because he's into sophisticated tastes.
"I needn't exchange words with someone to see their strength."
He adjusts his shades, lowering his arms from their folded stance. He doesn't quite understand why someone's trying to get him to enjoy himself here, but it's beginning to confuse him.
That laugh gets a rather unhappy scowl from the troll. Was she laughing at him?
"It certainly seems as such. Weakening anyone who comes into contact with it. My species is lucky enough not to come with such susceptibility to it."
"Friends" seem close to having a moirail, though. But Nepeta is the only moirail Equius would ever need... Other than Aradia, maybe. But she was something a bit different. A once-dead-once-robotic-though-likely-dead-again lover.
"But... it has nothing to do with, ah... weakening. It is a good thing to be friendly to others, because then others will be more inclined to like you. So you are not lonely."

And looking quite awkward about it. And confused. What's going on what.

"What is it."

"Um... nothing? You are staring."
And then she adds, "it is impolite."

He folds his arms, almost glowing with unhappiness. He lifts his nose in an absolutely snobbish fashion.
"Our views on etiquette are not on the same level, it seems. I hadn't known that humans even had any, by what I have seen and experienced."

Now no longer worried that he isn't going to go into some angry rage for whatever reason, Mimmi feels considerably less threatened.
"And observing does not sound very fun."

Mimmi has no idea what wigglers are, but she assumes it might have something to do with children. Maybe. Possibly.
"Perhaps you are not trying hard enough? Have you tried talking to someone?"
Besides her, of course.

"Besides, I am speaking with you aren't I?"

Mimmi smiled. "I am not the greatest conversationalist. I am sure you could find someone a bit more entertaining."

He raised an eyebrow at that smile. At least he's not glaring or scowling, Mimmi.
"It doesn't matter. I'm not sure if humans in general are very conversational. This is the most entertained I have been today."
He says that with an absolutely straight face, merely stating a fact.

Mimmi rubs her arm and shifts from foot to foot.
"Every human is different. Some are more talkative and friendly than others."
Reply
"Yes. I've heard of that friend-disease spreading amongst humans. Thankfully, I have not been afflicted by such a virus."
Reply
"What in the world are you talking about? It is not a disease. It is a way of being."

And that's the best she can explain it, really.
