It was amazing how much work was necessary for a small get together, but also how quickly and easily it went with the help of another person. Especially when that person happened to be on staff

Bobby had finally abandoned the drink table and his ice sculpture to wander over to the second biggest draw of the party: the colorful cupcakes and other sugary baked goods.
When he spotted Xanth halfway through a cupcake, he grinned.
"You're probably right. No movie can truly capture the epic-ness of our baked goods battles. Or the horror and tragedy of the poor cupcake victims." He shook his head sadly, which was sort of ruined by the fact that he was still grinning. "The movie is rarely as good as the thing it was based on, though."

"W-Well-- maybe w-we'll get lucky, a-and Deior will... d-decide to give us s-something for a-- a movie night?" Xanth reached for another cupcake, then began peeling the paper from it. "I-I mean, there's, th--there's a fridge i-in the-- the kitchen, s-so."
XD I know, I love it so much!mister_10_belowSeptember 18 2011, 07:18:52 UTC
"I wonder if there's somewhere we can put in like, requests, or something. Offer up a week of good behavior in exchange for a movie night."
Bobby nodded, reaching for another cupcake of his own (pretty much because Xanth getting one reminded him they were there, and that made him want one). "Yeah. It does seem weird, the hogdepodge of technology they have. I've seen outlets around, they should give us something to plug into them."
"I never had much experience with the low technology before I came here, but I think it's enough experience for me to totally agree with you there." Bobby missed tee-shirts and electricity, too. And video games. And movies. And the Danger Room.
"Maybe we can start a petition, get everyone to sign it."
"If-- i-if only." Xanth took a bite from his cupcake, then continued, "I--I'm not sure L-Lord Deior even-- e-even reads wh-what we write, let-- l-let alone pay e-enough at-- attention t-to look at a-- a p-petition..."
That brought a grin back to Xanth's face. "H--Here's hoping," he said, raising his cupcake as if in a toast. He didn't think it would really work, but hey - anything was worth a try.
Bobby laughed, raising his cupcake back, then taking a big bite of it. Which he fortunately finishes chewing before talking. "My petitioning skills are awesome. I'm super good at convincing people." He paused, considering. "Or I'm just really annoying, and people give in to shut me up. I'm not sure which one it is."
The urge to immediately reply You're not annoying! was there, but Xanth suppressed the outburst. Bobby wasn't annoying at all - in fact, he was really, really cool. And he thought Xanth was cool.
Xanth didn't want to break the spell.
"If-- i-if I was-- g-going to guess, I-I'd say it's-- th-the first one."
"That's only because you haven't given me time to annoy you properly yet," Bobby said, his tone was teasing. "But thanks. I like the first one better, myself."
When he spotted Xanth halfway through a cupcake, he grinned.
"I take it that means they're good?"

Dude. That sucked.
"Man. Now it's even more crappy that they don't have any TVs or anything here, or I'd totally insist on a movie night."

Yes. That logic absolutely made sense.

"E--Exactly! I-I mean, it... I-I've tried the-- th-the low t-technology, a-and-- and th-the more-- a-advanced stuff, and... I-I have to say, the, th-the more advanced is... p-pretty comfortable."
Truth be told, Xanth quite missed his tee-shirts and electricity. It was so easy.

So he probably wouldn't be at all interested in what the majority of the people here wanted.
"I can try anyway! Maybe one of the staff members would pass it on. Or at least look at it."
