The threads with Albel and Nel kill me with LOL. I can 'hear' him very strongly there. I'm curious: Is any of your characterisation pulled from the manga?

Good question. I generally dislike the manga adaption because I feel that the mangaka failed to bring justice to the complexity of most of the characters (namely, Fayt, Cliff, Maria, and Nel) and while Albel's time in the manga is very short, it doesn't seem like too much of a let down. Even in the game, Albel's overall diction fluctuates almost randomly between 17th century jargon to lax slang. (i.e: ”Surely you jest.”/Perhaps I shall be spared from carving that tongue from your mouth!” to ”This stinks.”/”I have a name too, you know!”) I'm not quite certain why he talks like this, whether it's the fault of some serious bullshitting on the hands of the game creators or whathaveyou. Though one things for certain: The manga adaption has Albel written very uniform, less malicious and more cocky, etc. So, I really can't tell you! I would say it's a conglomerate between both.

Plus, I've decided to bring him in the game 8 months end-canon, where he's mellowed down enough not to murder every ( ... )
