Rob Lowe, who makes his Brothers & Sisters appearance this Sunday, almost found himself on a different ABC serial: Grey's Anatomy. Playing Dr. Derek Shepherd, no less. "[It was] the first time in all of my career that I picked wrong," he tells USA Today, recalling his 2004 decision to pass on McDreamy. "Definitely a biggie."

Yeah, Lyon's Den was definitely the right career move. I'm sure you don't regret that at. all.

Lyon's Den was Shakespeare compared to dr.vegas. I like Rob and I like Joey Pants but that show was just bloody awful.

Wow, Rob as Derek? That would be a very different show. I think the chemistry would be very different with the character of Addie too.

I think Patrick Dempsey is very pretty, but he's got more of the sexy going on than RL does IMHO.

I agree. Plus, Patrick Dempsey will always have that look in his eyes that is like a siren song when he looks at Meredith that makes him such a perfect match for the part of Derek.

Funny you should mention that. The other day, I caught an old NYPD Blue episode starring Jimmy Smits, Richard Schiff and Kathryn Joosten. What were my first thoughts? Oh Toby's here! Oh, and this is Mrs Landingham! and, even after watching several NYPD BLUE episodes, I still can't get out of my head that Jimmy Smits has played other parts than Matt Santos.
