Contemplating New Adventures

I've been thinking pretty seriously about going to DragonCon in Atlanta, Georgia in September. I was looking over the guest list and it just looks amazing. Cast members from B5, BSG, Buffy, Firefly, and tons from Star Trek. I'm not usually one to get all fangirly over celebrities, so I'm not sure what the deal is. I would not judge you going to the con because....I totally want to go. I wanted to go last year, I want to go this year. Perhaps I will alert my nerd friends and finally make this happen.

I mean...Michelle Forbes, Linda Hamilton, Stan Lee, Edward James Olmos?? How could I resist?

Likewise. I'm not someone who goes all fancrazy over celebs and I've never been to a con, but I'd totally go to one just for the experience.

How are you finding Doctor Who? I watched the whole series a couple of weeks ago and found it to be interesting and yet mindnumbingly annoying with the plot holes and companions constantly fawning over the Doctor. =\

The plot holes and continuity issues bug the crap out of me lol. That said, I've never seen time travel handled well in sci-fi (I'm looking at you, Captain Janeway), so I deal with it. And now that I've gotten through the first couple of episodes, I'm liking some of the stories a lot better. The Dalek episode was really quite good, so I hope that continues.

I deeply, deeply regret not getting to CA to the Farscape Conventions.

I've always felt like I've missed out on something by not going. And now I feel that since I'm so close, I really don't have an excuse. I even have friends that live in Atlanta so I don't have to pay for a hotel.

I have no idea. There's this weird obsession with getting drunk/high, cooking food, chilling out, and talking with random people. Which, tbh, just doesn't sound like an awesome time to me. Not as awesome as a sci-fi con for sure.
