My first poll with new poll-making abilities =D

We just got done watching Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and I have to say, I fucking love Star Trek. Like, I don't even know. The historical perspective on historical events that are so obvious in the plots makes me fangirl like no other. And I'm not even a history buff! I'm pretty bad at it, honestly.

I really only fucking love star trek as far as the science and technology go. The whole "we're humans and we're better than you despite being total noobs to the universe and space travel" thing still irks me to no end.

Definitely. They even cover how insulting it is to refer to "human" rights on a galactic scale or to normalize "human" as being superior. Then by the end of the movie Kirk totally fails and insists Spock is human.

I love discussing the wins and fails of Star Trek tbh

It's what turned me off to Enterprise more than anything else. Intergalactic infants going around judging people and poking their noses into things. Voyager as well actually, but I watched that one all the way through.

I really want to get around to watching some of the series from start to finish though, especially DS9, since I never got to watch many episodes of that.
