Well y'all probably noticed that I've been tweaking and adjusting again. I've been making small changes to improve ease of use and clarity. (Nothing I've done, or intend to do, should affect the scale of the scores.)

I have a sinking sensation that the work queries STILL aren't right. I'm betting that it should really look more like this:

You are so cool. I hope you didn't find anything that wouldn't work well ... I know some of the info here is getting fragmented. Good luck this weekend. A paper tally is what saved me from the mad-house. There's something very satisfying about being able to tote that around and mark off items immediately.

I make notes in my PDA throughout the day and then tally online at bedtime.

Beware. Punchiness ahead. moderately_mad May 5 2006, 19:21:21 UTC
Wanna be my Excel monkey??

That damn program makes my eyes bleed. Let's see ... you could do all the work translating this to the-program-that-will-not-bend-to-my-will. You could write up instructions and create a template and ... and...

In exchange I'd give you a nice credit/acknowledgment in whatever ends up getting published. Meanwhile I will rake in the scads of money that the best-seller-type sales generate.

Not so much, huh?

Serius-ly, I'd love to see anything that you come up with though.

PS I think I need to take the weekend off from this. I'm getting weird.

I noticed that during the time you were making major changes to the generic tally, it stopped working the way it had to use it through your links in your posts. I'm assuming it's a change on OKCupid's end, but it did happen at the same time as your changes. Previously, I used to just click on the link for the test in any of your or my own tally posts, and it would direct me to the test at OKCupid; the last step would be filling in my gender, marital status, DOB, and whether I keep a journal, and then it would give me my results with the HMTL code. Now, if I do it that way, at the last step, OKCupid prompts me for a username and email address as well, to create a new OKCupid account. If I fill in my existing OKCupid username or email address, it tells me there's already an account under that name, and won't let me proceed. The first time this happened, I went ahead and set up another under my second email address, but since I have only two, that was a tactic of limited utility. Now I'm having to Google for the test instead, which ( ... )

I went after this a little tonight. Did you ever find a handy solution?

I've gotten used to Googling "okcupid keeping score" to get there.
