I'd suggest writing a mini story. They want to know that you're knowledgable about sports, and that your writing is decent. For example, when I applied to MLB.com, they asked "Why should we hire you?" So I wrote a 500-word essay on why I got into sports writing in the first place. I just picked a memorable event in my life and spun it around my career. If you want to see the story, let me know and I'll forward it to you.
And...I'm gonna kick your ass if you don't get the application in on time, so get movin! I want to start telling everyone my lil' sis works for S.I. :) Give me a call if you need help, you know I'm always here for you. Except after 10 p.m., when I'm sleeping. :)
