Got my hands on the new C&C3 expansion, Kane's Wrath. It deviates from the standard expansion pack format, in that it doesn't pick up right where the base game leave off. Instead, Kane's Wrath aims to sort of fill in the gaps in the Nod back story, picking up shortly after Firestorm and leading you around backstage up through the events of Tiberium Wars, and continuing into the future.

Chronological format aside, the split faction concept born in Zero Hour is present here, and presents a more important choice here. There are only two "cells" per base faction, but they seem more distinctly separated from each other.

The new units and abilities present new solutions to old problems, and present some new challenges of their own. Every faction receives a new "super-unit" that can be produced from a special facility at great expense and upgraded to suit your particular taste in destruction. These units are particularly hard to kill and, if ignored, will leave nothing but smoking ruin where enemies once stood.

All in all, quite a lot of fun.
