The End

That's it.
I began reading TRC in June 2005, the year they started publishing it in France. It was my second manga ever - the first one being CCS - but it was the one that gave me an interest for what has become one my greatest passions.
I just read the final the chapter.

Alright, I'll agree with the ones saying it is not exactly what we expected. The last part of the story seems rushed, and we are still waiting for some answers.

The clones disappeared. I don't think we should say they died, their existence just ceased. And even if some will disapprove, I think they had a fulfilling and happy life, or at least the most fulfilling and happiest life they could expect.

Fei Wang Reed died. That's a good damn thing. We still don't exactly know why he tried to bring back Yuuko, but honestly, I don't really care. He was just an awful bastard in my opinion and it’s good to finally have a CLAMP character you can rightfully hate without making excuses.

Now, Yuuko died. I think we all guessed it at one point or the other. But still, it hurt. I would have liked to know more about her, but I suppose her mysterious ways are part of her never-ending charm.

To move to Holic, or should I say, XXX Holic Rou, I wonder how many chapters and how much information we can expect from it. I like the atmosphere of it, even though it was a bit destabilizing to see Watanuki act in such a Yuukoesque fashion. I hope the boys will meet a happy ending.

Speaking of ending, we still have to wait for the epilogue of TRC. According to Ohkawa, “they will all be happy in the end except one”, and I think the one will be Shaoran, because he’ll always have regrets and remorse. Or was it about Fei Wang Reed?

I hope Sakura and Shaoran will live happily ever after in Clow (good luck with Touya-O, kid), that Kurogane will take Fye home to Nihon (I don’t think Tomoyo would let it be any other  way) and that the Mokona will be together once more.

Maybe it’s for them I am the most worried, because in Rou, which is supposed to take place a few years after the end of TRC - though it’s difficult to tell, with all the paradoxes and Watanuki not aging - we have yet to see Sorel. She could be sleeping somewhere or visiting her old companions, but anyway, I really would like to know what has happened to her.

Well, in the end, it somehow marks the end of a part of my life. This week is my first one in a business school, and in three years, I’ll have a job. I hope it won’t keep me from enjoying reading manga and spending time with friends discussing them ^^
