I accidentally did a no call no show today. I didn't think I had work today and I did. I am hanging out/staying over with friend today/last night and I am FAR away from home in East County. So I can't get to work on time for my shift. I am on my final write up for tardiness. I am probably going to be fired. I can't believe this is happening right ( Read more... )

And, Jayden is most likely right. The problem with being so drawn to the powerful, beautiful, smart, and having the ability to fight back abilities in game is that they take time away from developing those things in real life. Yes, real life is hard. Yes, it is full of sacrifices. Honestly, though, I'll take the satisfaction of accomplishing something difficult in real life over accomplishing something in a game by narrating what a character would do 99 times out of 100. In games, sure, you can triumph in ways that seem or literally are impossible in the real world, and that feels great! But all you have when that is over is a memory of a fun time, and meanwhile you're still broke and haven't really done anything to improve your real life situation. People trade hopes and dreams for the escape of fantasy all the time, because it IS easier to deal with real life, but typically those people accomplish far fewer life goals than someone who finds a balance.
