Toilet-trained kitten!

Yep, she's really there, and has been for about a month now. Clever kitten!

I'm loving the "flush twice a day" model of cat-waste removal so much more than the scooping one. :)

I would post a pic or two, but she pretty much takes care of business privately; I rarely see her do it anymore.

Huh. We've thought about doing that; I know at least one of our cats would toilet-train in about 30 seconds. In fact, we had to dissuade her from peeing over the drain in the bathtub. I was hesitant because the available bathroom is the guest bathroom. Do you think this would be a viable idea if the available bathroom was one that humans needed to use sometimes too?

I do, actually. A cat doesn't need constant access to a toilet (or litterbox) every minute of every day; if I need to shut the cat out of "her" bathroom for a little while, she just holds it. No biggie. (She hasn't yet learned to use "our" bathroom too, but I plan to teach her that soon.) You do need to make sure the cat has overnight access to a toilet s/he is comfortable with.

There is a chance of a guest running into a situation where s/he has to flush something, but most of the time, it'll just be pee. And that way, there's no litterbox stink in the bathroom or elsewhere in the apartment/house.

Our cat's toilet is in our guest bathroom too. We haven't had overnight guests since we got her, but I'm not worried about it.
