My poor film cameras feel neglected by the advance of technology. Currently I am not shooting any film, but maybe in 2010 . . . I'll do it. It's been in the back of mind for a while.

I just think I've gotten spoiled by the convenience and immediacy of digital . . . there's things I love about it, and some things I don't (no hands on process . . . atleast not in the same way as film and darkrooms etc.)

I encourage you to explore film again if you have the time. Would be perfect with your nature studies and your bird studies. :)

I've been hunding around for my F2, but so far no luck. I may ask to borrow my brother's Minolta for awhile.

I'm thinking nature studies as well.

I'm now looking into it. I think it'd be lots of fun to actually set up a dark room etc. I found a really cheap medium format camera that's the same as the one I used to use...yeah an antique.

Now to find the rest of the stuff.

I loved that website by the way. Very clear information.

I still shoot ONLY film for weddings. I don't really think digital will ever be able to reproduce what I can get in one take on the Nikon F5 with 3200 speed b&w. And of course, the 'Blads...again, nothing I can afford or have seen in digital even comes close. But the convenience and "fun" of digital has rendered film obsolete. And I do not like the way scans look and can't afford pro scans for everything I want digitized.

Try film again, girl! Try ActionLab in Concord! And buy my Nikon F5 so I can upgrade my digital body! ;)

I'm going to work on getting a film setup. One thing is that my entire work life I've worked with film and lithography and I might be missing the mechanics of it as well as the art.

LOL can't afford your F5 which I would love. But I'm finding that film stuff is a bargain right now.

I'm going to do a medium format, hopefully.

What are you shooting weddings with? What camera? If you don't mind my asking.

I shoot a lot of film and digital. What do you need to know. My eyes are killing me. Feel free to give me a call so we can talk.

What do you shoot with film, rather than digital? What are the pros of film. I think at this point with the number of pixels it's got to be close.

What I feel is that range of color and transition to white is better done in analog. But I think I need to work with film to figure it out.
