You don't sound flat to me. I was just thinking that I am so glad I quit smoking (again
!) last year. I would have hated going into this wanting a cigarette!

It sounds hard. It's hard everywhere but I think it must be agonizing to live in places with such a large percentage of the population without a safety net of some sort or another. Here I feel like I am living in a place without medical care or doctors. I have seen no instructions for what anyone should do if they are hurt or sick from some other cause. Just hoping it will not be an issue.

I also worry about what happens to the people with 'ordinary' emergencies. There's an 81 year old gentleman in our complex who got sent home from hospital mid-March with a promise they'd let him know when to come back for bladder surgery but they were getting the hospital ready for Corvid cases --- he was taken back a few days ago in a very serious condition. I know government hospitals have massive staff and financial problems, but that was so wrong and probably age-related. The risks of not having private health insurance.

One of my oldest friends called me yesterday having a literal panic attack because she only has two cartons of cigarettes left and what if it isn't enough? And just after that, Cyril came on tv to tell us he's keeping us home for an extra two weeks. I feel awful for the smokers, I can just image how I would feel if I still smoked (there would be cartons of cigarettes in the flat and no extra pasta, rice or long life milk, lol).

I check the New York figures every day - frightening. Be safe.

I'm having the 'there's time to create... and yet' problem too. My sympathies!

I feel like I'm wasting days here - though as someone pointed out to me earlier, I still have a lot of days to waste so maybe I can make up for it later.

We have changed to Men and Women going out on alternate days (3 days each), and nobody goes out on Sundays. And we are supposed to end this on April 12th, but I don't think will. And we can't go out this Thursday and Friday because people might decide to pray in small groups or something.

*big hugs*

Oh I heard about that idea of separate days, just didn't realise it was Peru. I like the addition of no one going out on Sundays, too. I watch your figures because we started almost level and have similar problems - I suspect you've done more testing than us.

We were meant to be locked down till the 16th, at least partly to keep everyone in during Easter - Zionist Christian Church had to be approached for cooperation personally by the president because they have a millions strong gathering over Easter weekend. Everyone has had to adapt to online services. There was a general feeling the lockdown wouldn't just be for three weeks, and he's just added an extra two weeks, which means we're shut in till May 1st. Hopefully some of the harshest restrictions will be eased - I see they're allowing clothes for babies and toddlers to be sold now because we're going into winter.

Take care *hugs*

We are not the only ones doing it, but we started or were one of the first. It didn't work that well, though because although men went out to buy groceries too, more women went out on their assigned days. Two possible explanations: men only buy a few things, women think they can't really do it well, so we are back to one per house, and no one on Sundays.

Here the churches, all religions, shut down. We have until April 26 now. Good they allow to buy baby clothes. We are going into winter too, but in Lima we only go down to 13° C when it's a harsh winter.

Our president mentioned speaking with yours too, I believe. Or maybe I am confused with so many info. How many with the sickness you have? Right now we have 5897. We increase over 500 daily now, but we are doing more tests.

We're also only allowed one person per household to go shopping which can be a real pain sometimes but it keeps the numbers down in stores. For a while they only allowed one person in a car but now they've extended it to driver plus one passenger. Not sure why unless it's to cover having to go to a doctor or something. We're not allowed to go for recreational drives ( ... )

I really like the banner!

There is something about it that flattens creativity. Theoretically we should all be writing away as we are stuck indoors - but it doesn't happen.

I really feel for those with no income - and yet they would be likely to be amongst the dead if the restriction were lifted - there is no easy answer. It sounds as if the precautions are working, but...

Finding a balance between not irrevocably destroying the economy while protecting the vulnerable is very much a balancing act for governments and there's no rule book. We still don't know what it does to TB sufferers and the many with HIV who aren't on antiretrovirals because they can't take the side effects and we really, really do not want to find out.

I'm not sure what I am doing with my days, but definitely nothing productive. I wanted to get wool and at least do some knitting for winter for the grandbabies, but there wasn't time and it's not on the list of essentials we're allowed to buy.

We are able to buy our wool online as we still have a reasonable postal service. It is a God-send.

In theory it seems like it would be a good time to write but it does not really work out that way. I have not been feeling creative. It also seems like a good time to de-clutter and that does not work out either. Not sure why that is. I am just holding it together and calling that good enough.

Ehh, holding it together seems to be all most of us are managing right now. Living through history is not fun. I have the idea I should give the flat a deep clean and reorganise the books, that kind of thing, but it doesn't happen. I'm not sure what I'm doing with my days - a whole bunch of reading news feeds and online colour by numbers seems to sum it up. Such a waste, lol!

You take care, Jaen.
