I love your tree! For some reason the "branch" made me feel very tender and hopeful. Life is so imperfect but so very much worth living. In case you cannot tell, I had a lovely Christmas this year. Everyone in our little pod of three agreed it was the best ever (or the best in decades maybe for me!). We were kind and gentle with one another and felt so loved.
We are in bad shape also here in New York City. Our current surge is worst than what I thought was as bad as it could be last spring. Everyone is at last (in general) staying home. Everything is closed! Streets are empty. I loved reading your update. Same problem and so many different circumstances and ways of handling it. I do feel like there will be light again soon. Maybe the vaccine... Maybe we are getting better at this.
Cyril locked us down on Sunday - he let us have Christmas and then told us it was enough. There was less arguing than usual, enough people could see they couldn't allow the usual insane New Year's Eve partying. No alcohol (which means much less strain on trauma units), no beaches, wear a mask, stay at home, 9 - 6 curfew. It's working - patchily.
I'm glad your Christmas was so peaceful, sometimes small is lovely. Take care!
We were very happy Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year's Eve also. New York City closed down Times Square for New Year's Eve. They allowed only a few hundred in that area which was stuffed with more than a million in the streets around their last year. I am wondering how they chose who got to go. I presume it was performers, technicians, and TV and news presenters only. We did not even bother to watch it on TV! Maybe next year.

It's good to catch up a little. I'm glad you had a good Christmas. I worry about my friends around the world when they're quiet (especially in these times of pandemic). Happy Holidays and have a Safe and Happy New Year.
Hopefully we should have a safe New Year as we've all been locked down again --- husband is very aggravated but it had to come. I want to post more this year, it's a good way to clear the head.
