You can always go with John Schrader, http://www.shraderbootmaker.com/. All three former members of GBU recommend him for your boot-buying needs!

I also have a pair of Oak Tree western boots you wouldn't know are western boots. Can't remember the style name anymore, but they're wicked comfy and over the calf.

Good e'en! You just responded to one of my posts, and I followed you back here, out of curiosity -- saw this post, and figured I'd throw in my two pence. I'm unfamiliar with Schrader, but I can recommend Sons of Sandlar boots. My husband and I both have knee-high, lace-up, full-grain-leather pairs, and have been nothing but thrilled with them. He has very wide feet at the balls of the feet, and is "flat footed"....and I have very narrow feet and ankles, one foot a 1/2 size larger than the other, and a shifted arch on one side...both of us have trouble finding shoes that fit well, and both of us love our SoS boots. The fact that they lace up all the way (without any openings in the leather, OR bulky buttons), and the lacing adjusts the arch support too, makes them fairly custom-fitted, beyond whether or not you get the foot-fitting itself done as a custom option (as is done through their site, last I knew) or not (as happens when you buy a pair at faire.) We've had them for 7 years, and they've held up to regular use as both ( ... )
