I want to make spaghetti for dinner tonight. It's my own special recipe, and it sounds so yummy right now.

1 lb hamburger
1 8 oz. can S&W Italian recipe stewed tomatoes (oregano and basil flavor), drained
1 small zucchini, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1 med green bell pepper, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 pint sliced mushrooms
1 8-12 oz. can tomato sauce (NOT PASTE!)
3/4 tsp salt (separated into 1/4 tsp and 1/2 tsp)
1/2 tsp pepper (separated into 1/4 tsps)
3/4 tsp garlic powder (separated into 1/4 tsp and 1/2 tsp)
1 clove garlic, minced (or 1 tsp pre-minced garlic from a jar)
1/2 tsp onion powder (half of a small sweet onion can be substituted)
3/4 tsp Johnny's season salt (separated into 1/4 tsp and 1/2 tsp)
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
pinch chili powder to taste
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 lb dry spaghetti noodles

Saute zucchini, bell pepper and mushrooms (and onion if using real onion instead of powder) in olive oil over medium heat until tender and slightly browned. Remove from pan and set aside. Brown hamburger in the same pan with 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, and 1/4 tsp Johnny's season salt until cooked thoroughly. Drain meat well and return to the pan with the saute'd vegetables. Add stewed tomatoes and the rest of the herbs and seasonings. Simmer on medium low for half an hour.

In a large pot, boil spaghetti noodles until they are done to your preference (I prefer al dente). Drain and return to the pot. Add the finished spaghetti sauce to the noodles and stir until well incorporated. Serve immediately while still hot with parmesan cheese (or whatever cheese you prefer). This recipe serves 4.

The measurements of the seasonings are approximate. I usually just add them until they look right. They can be adjusted to personal preference, and any other seasonings or vegetables you like can be added. This is the first time I've actually tried to write the recipe out for anyone. If you try the recipe, let me know what you liked, didn't like, or any way you changed the recipe. I'm always looking for new ideas for things to add. =)

And for the record, I believe that using canned or jars of premade spaghetti sauce is blasphemy. ;)
