Change

You don't need me to point out the obvious, but the state of California has agreed with the rest of the country in their choice for Barack Obama. Why? Because people want change, and reading everyone's thoughts on "change" leads me to believe that this is why people voted for him. Problem is, when I read shit like, "America is ready for change, ( Read more... )

people are STILL voting against Gay Marriage, because apparently, nobody wants to hang their bigoted hats. "I voted Barack Obama, but I still hate them gays!"

I believe that a lot of this ignorant opinion is all influenced with stereotypes and RELIGION. Until society itself can grasp out of that mindset, nothing will change.

Understand why you're voting for this man, and understand what "change" means.

Very well said.

The biggest problem with the majority of Americans is that they are only spoon-fed of what others or the news says, leading to uninformed and mislead reasoning to vote. Some of us educated people on the other hand do extensive research on both political viewpoints for the past few months to see what fits our beliefs.

Don't be an idiot and vote Obama just because everyone else is voting Obama.

Yeah, and it was inevitable, really. What's sad is I keep overhearing people ON THE CSUS CAMPUS talking about how they voted Obama and Kevin Johnson (former NBA superstar, now running for mayor of Sacramento), and left. Their reason? Because they're black ( ... )

i agree. i didn't vote for obama because i sincerely did not agree with a lot of his views and policies he was proposing, not because he was BLACK. but even my brother-in-law, a puerto rican from a ghetto thought i was racist because i wanted a "white guy" because my boyfriend is "white ( ... )

That's exactly why I've been scared of these elections for years, and granted we didn't really know it'd be Obama v. McCain, signs pointed to that a long time ago. My dad hit it on the head when he said, "Really, those two are the best we've got?" I've had my differences with my father, but this is most definitely something I strongly agree with him on.

One of my classmates said, "If ignorance is bliss, then why do I still hate living in this country?" I couldn't agree more.

I totally agree with everything you just posted. Thank you! People don't even understand change and yet they still chant it. Needless to say I am still glad Obama is in power, but like you said he cannot change everything himself. I'm sure you saw my entry on how I felt just on Prop 8. Seriously ridiculous that people cant even make changes to give people rights they should already have.

Goodluck Obama, its going to be a long journey.
