The Big Read thinks that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicise those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've only read 6 and force books upon them ;-)

I've read sixty, and I love about 40 of them. Madame Bovary and Anna Karenina are probably my favorites overall. (I'm kinda too lazy to post to my journal- maybe I will tomorrow when I don't have the threat of a long workday in a mere 8 hours ahead of me).

I've never actually at down and read the Bible through. I've read parts of it and have a pretty good knowledge of what's in there thanks to being raised Catholic, going to Catholic school for 8 years, and being gay (because people always use the Bible against gays so you learn a bit of the counter-arguments you need to stand your ground). If I did read To Kill A Mockingbird I don't remember it at all, as I'm sure that is the case with a few of the books I didn't mark as read.
