Disney Meme

After visiting Disneyland twice this weekend (the new Star Tours is the coolest thing, by the way), I felt like doing a Disney meme. This one is much edited from the ones already out there.

Which Disney film is your favorite?

A Bug's Life. It feels a little ridiculous to admit it, but it's true. A Bug's Life combines a lot of my favorite things: nature, insects, theatre motifs, and movies without humans in them.

Runners up: Aladdin, Mulan, The Lion King, and Hercules.

Which Disney "Princess” film is your favorite?

Beauty and the Beast. I guess? I like the "Princess" films, but none are really my favorite. I've always preferred the movies about boys or warrior heroines. It makes me feel awkward, because girls always seem to choose the pretty princesses as their favorites.

Which Disney film makes you cry the most?

Mufasa's death in The Lion King was probably the first time a movie made me cry. Otherwise... Disney films don't make me cry?

Which Disney film makes you the happiest?

Aladdin. It's my second favorite Disney film, and has some of my favorite musical moments.

Which Disney film has the best music?

Hercules is my favorite soundtrack. It's so much fun!

Which Disney film has the best love story?

101 Dalmations. It's not just about Pongo and Perdita (and Roger and Anita) falling in love, but how they stay together as a family. I'm more interested in what comes after a romance than the romance itself.

Who is your favorite Disney heroine?

Mulan. I love cross-dressing warrior heroines.

Who is your favorite Disney hero?

Flik. Totally my hero. :D

Who is your favorite Disney Princess?

Belle, I guess? I was never into princesses, even when I was a little girl, but Belle's my default answer because she's a bookish brunette. I've come to find that I need a default answer, so I have something to say when people ask me.

Who is your favorite Disney Prince?

Aladdin.

Who is your favorite Disney animal sidekick?

Iago.

I like that he was redeemed in The Return of Jafar, and although he was a hero on a technicality, he still got away with acting like a villain throughout the TV series. He ended up being, I suppose, an anti-hero animal sidekick. And I think that's fascinating.

First Disney movie you saw?

I don't remember, but the Little Mermaid was the first I saw in theaters. Wait, actually I saw Who Framed Roger Rabbit the year before at the drive-in. I would have been 2, but apparently I remember this.

Were you frightened by any Disney Films?

Plenty. Hmm, but I don't have specific examples. This requires more thought.

Which Disney movie do you dislike?

WALL-E and the Little Mermaid. The Little Mermaid is the only Disney "Renaissance" film I didn't like when I rewatched it as an adult.

Who is your favorite villain?

Hades.

Badda-bing, badda-boom.

What is your favorite Disney song?

"I Won't Say (I'm In Love)" from Hercules. I love Susan Egan's voice.
