Things I miss about ICQ:

- Being able to find people to chat with based on searching for interests, favourite music, age, etc.

- The "random chat" option.

- The groups/community type things you could join or create, which I think tended to have chatrooms affiliated with them.

Why don't any of the current messengers have these options?

more importantly, why don't any of the new messengers exclaim so gratingly at you whenever you get a message?

Oh Man, my friend Mike and I were talking about ICQ the other night. He even remembers his number.

So funny.

haha... i was just talking about icq a few days ago. i love how you can generally tell a generation of people based on what messenger they started on.

i remember resisting changing over to msn with everything i had... until i only had like three people left on icq, and then i had to. i actually re-downloaded icq about a year ago and used it a bit with some friends, but it never caught on.

we should start it up again.

icq was a lot more community-oriented than i think any other IM client out there. i kinda miss it too... met some cool people through it.
