Well, I went out and got myself a job. I work part-time at Hobby Lobby in the fabrics department, with the potential to go full-time. Ugh... I went swimming yesterday in a really cold lake, and ended up with an earache. I thought ok, no more swimming underwater. This morning I wake up and I'm feverish, my tonsils are swollen to the point where it hurts to breathe, much less swallow, and my ears are killing me. The vet took the necessary X-rays, and gave us the best possible chance he had. At the very least, $2000 of vet bills not including the $700 hardware to fix his leg. It was his right hind leg, 3.5 centimeters below the hock, and it broke through all of the bones there. The vet gave us a 20% success rate, and even then we think he bumped it up a ( Read more... )

Hey guys, we are back, safe and sound, and a lengthy update will happen later.

Today started out ok, got up, got some good breakfast, and did a bit of grocery shopping. Got home, and we waited a couple hours for the 100+ degree heat to die down a bit. Ok, update, whee. My dad, stepmom and 2 sisters came spend the holiday with us, it was great to see them again. I bring them out to the farm and they love the goats. Ok, so things have been pretty hectic lately.
