*purrs* Oh, Happy Solstice to ME!!!! This was a lot of fun. Simple plot, FUN character dynamics, great sex. This was lovely, bb!
Also... can a person on a BLS ambulance start an IV? I thought EMT-B's couldn't... or is it possible for EMT-B's in rural areas to get additional training for that without going up to AEMT or EMT-I?
Glad you liked it! In NY, there's a BLS level called EMT-Intermediate, where you can do ET intubation and start IVs (I'm taking the class next year). It's still considered BLS. I have no idea if they actually have this in Iowa; my research for this story extended only to salmonella (LOL). A week after I wrote the puking chapter, I got a violent stomach flu. I think either the Star Trek goddesses or the muses themselves were getting their revenge on me...
Okay, I didn't know if they considered EMT-I to be ALS or BLS. That answers that question! I can't wait for paramedic school. So much more to learn! :D
And... yeah, I SWEAR, there are fanfic gods that WILL inflict you with the things you inflict on your characters. I have experienced this. It's inexplicable, but it happens. Be careful what you do to Jim Kirk. It comes back to bite you.
Are there going to be more Word Wars soon? I need to check. Now that I have a bit of time, I want to join in. :)
Thank you so very, VERY much for this detailed and lovely comment, which COMPLETELY made my day! I loved writing this story, and I'm very glad to hear the effort I put in with medical details and porn paid off!
On a personal note, your review really cheered me up. The 26th is my daughter's birthday, and this is the first year we've been apart for it, since she is with her dad for the holidays. I was really missing her, and seeing this review made me feel happy for the first time all day, so thank you!
I'm curious how you were able to listen to the story--some kind of text-to-speech converter? how realistic is it? Just curious....
