Because sometimes you just have to hold Lara Croft underwater until she kicks her legs and chokes in a slightly amusing way. It's the same deal with making C-3P0 endlessly walk off a cliff in LEGO Star Wars :)

Of course that did lead to me having a potential-death-by-drowning nightmare...
