I really enjoyed the So You Want To Be A Wizard series. I never finished it but I liked it. The scientific approach was fun.

I've often considered naming a kid Matilda lol.

I feel the Ashfall books get better as they go. I agree, not brilliant but as a whole a lot of fun. Which I suppose is why I love them.

I like the spelling "Mathilde" best, but that's the French student in me, I suppose.

I plan to keep reading both the Wizard and Ashfall series, but I have other books due at the library first, so I will attempt them next.

I tried a few pages of P&P&Z, and the badness of it made me too cross to persevere. However, the film looks as though it's going to be pretty fun.

I almost abandoned it after Darcy's first proposal. A socially awkward moment was made even worse by Elizabeth challenging Darcy to a fight over his interference in Jane and Bingley's relationship. It's exactly like when you read a summary of a fanfic, and you can tell it's a really good concept, but the writing is terrible.

I quite liked p a a p and zombies. I thought there were some interesting insights on class.

The Diane Diane books seemed to me to be thrown together.

The things I dislike about the book and the concept itself aren't the sort of things that get transferred between different mediums, which is why I still want to see the movie. So many zombie stories are about the origin, but this takes place at least a generation later than the start of the plague, so civilization has adapted already. That's what I liked about the Newsflesh trilogy, too.

The first Young Wizards book didn't impress me too much, but I like the characters and the world building. I like Diane Duane in general, so I'm looking forward to it.

I liked the 'Wizard' series by Diane Duane - the first three are the best, I thought. The third one has Star Wars references. :)

Matilda is nice. Am tempted to see the PP & Z movie - I like genre mashups. Plus the Eleventh Doctor is in it - win.

I'll definitely see the P&P&Z movie when it comes out in a few weeks. Some of the things I disliked about the book will probably transfer over, like the dick jokes, but hopefully most of the awkward writing won't.
