There is talks about a remake of the '70s television series 'Alias Smith and Jones'. As far as I know it's actor Owen Wilson who is currently looking into making this movie and starring as one of the leads...

Oh!! I remember that show! My dad used to watch it back when I was a kid. And I think they just started airing it again on tv now.

Hiya *waves* I just found this, and after reading it I just had to comment. I hope you don't mind ^^

I agree with everything you've said here, and I've been thinking about Jensen and Jared playing Kid and Heyes in a possible remake. They'd be perfect! You pretty much listed all the reasons - the physical resemblence, though difference in height xD, and the stuff like being wanted and on the road, and the rock papaer scissors versus the coin tossing (which I find extremely amusing, the first time I saw that I was like "oooh, just like Dean and Sam, but with a coin!" *grins* )

I think it's almost a bit strange how much they, JD and JP, look like Pete and Ben. Everything that the shows and actors have in common... seriously, Owen Wilson? No way. I have nothing against him otherwise, but in a ASJ remake, just no.

There's an ASJ comm here, it's not half bad ^^

Again, hope you don't mind. Just couldn't help but comment ;D

It's so funny you mention this, because both Jensen and Jared have mentioned wanting to do a western. ALIAS SMITH AND JONES would be perfect for them. I remember the tragedy of Pete Duel's death too well. It was so sad.

Yeah, it was very sad. Pete Duel was so talented. I think he would've made it in the movie business after AS&J had been cancelled. Had he just stuck it out for a couple of years things would've been better for him. He was extremely tired of working the long hours on a series. Just like Jared and Jensen have said, being one of only two lead actors make for long hard days. Pete Duel was suffering because of the long hours and the stress of having to hide his epilepsy at work while you know working all the time... There just was no relief for him.

I think Jared and Jensen would be perfect in the roles of Hannibal Heyes and Kid Curry. I really do hope that if the movie is made that they both audition for the roles. If they did they would surely get the roles.
